Speed & Agility

Focus on drills that enhance acceleration, top-end speed, and explosive power, such as hill sprints, bounding, and resistance sprints.

Hill Sprints – Sprinting uphill increases acceleration and builds strength in the legs for faster sprints.

Flying Sprints – Build top-end speed by running at a steady pace and then sprinting at full speed after a short build-up.

Bounds – Leap forward with long strides to improve leg strength, stride length, and explosiveness.

Resisted Sprints – Sprint with added resistance to develop power and speed.

Broad Jumps – Explosive jump forward, emphasizing power from the legs and improving first-step acceleration.

Acceleration Drills – Short sprints starting from a dead stop to work on fast starts and building maximum speed quickly.
